SELLING TIPS: Responding to Objections

TYPES OF OBJECTIONS AND HOW TO RESPOND

Objection 1:

"I buy from someone else."

How to Respond:

Show understanding.

Let the Customer know how to contact you if she loses touch with her current Representative.

"Great! Who is your Representative? I might know her!"  (I say this all the time, depending on their response, this is how I can tell if someone is being dishonest.)

"Great! Thank you for using Avon products!" 

Objection 2:

"I'm allergic to Avon."

How to Respond: 

Show understanding.

Offer a free a sample and stress the Avon 100% guarantee.

"I understand your need to be careful about the products you use on your skin. We have wonderful products that work on sensitive skin and a variety of product categories like jewelry and accessories. I'd like to give you a sample of some sensitive skin products to try so you can see how you like it."

Objection 3: 

"I don't use Avon."

How to Respond: 

Offer a brochure and/or samples to try.

"Have you seen our current brochure? We offer a variety of products."

"I have samples of products I would love to share with you and get your opinion of them!"

"Let me leave you my brochure. My name and number are on the back. May I have your number? I'd like to call you in case there is something you would like to try."


Objection 4:

"I love Avon, but I can't afford to buy right now."

How to Respond: 

Show understanding and offer to explain the Avon Earning Opportunity.

"I am glad to hear you love Avon Products. I know times are tough right now. What if I show you how you can get the products you love at a discount and earn money at the same time?"

"Let me share Avon's earnings opportunity with you, you would make a great asset to our team!"

Objection 5:

"I'm too busy right now."

How to Respond:

Respond with "I know how you feel..." or "I have found..."

Give a sample/Set up a callback time.

"I know how you feel. Many new Representatives felt the same way and they found that Avon fits beautifully into their busy lives. Here is a sample to try and I'd like to call you in a couple of days to set up time to show  you how easily Avon can become part of your life."


AFTER HANDLING OBJECTIONS, ALWAYS CLOSE THE SALE BY ASKING FOR THE ORDER.
